Research activities and aims

The center focuses on the following areas:

• Research on cultural interactions between German culture and Jewish culture from the middle ages to the present;
• Research on German-Jewish philosophers, critics and writers of the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries;
• Research in special archives and of source materials in Jerusalem;
• Special coordination with the German department to promote the research of German-Jewish literature;
• Special focus on the reception of German-Jewish culture as a constituting element of contemporary culture.
