Research activities and aims
Research on cultural interactions between German culture and Jewish culture from the middle ages to the present. Research on German-Jewish philosophers, critics and writers of the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Research in special archives and of source materials in Jerusalem. Special coordination with the German department to promote the research of German-Jewish literature. Special focus on the reception of German-Jewish culture as a constituting element of contemporary culture.
