Research activities and aims
The Center combines several strong research groups in the Departments of Computer Science and Pure Mathematics, and some affiliated groups in the Department of Applied Mathematics, which study theoretical and applied problems in geometry. Their topics of research cover many aspects of geometry, such as: Discrete and Combinatorial Geometry, Computational Geometry, Algebraic Geometry and Topology, Geometric and Functional Analysis, Arithmetic Geometry, Differential Geometry, Symplectic Geometry, Geometry of Dynamical Systems, etc. The research also includes the applications of geometric techniques in many application areas, such as Robotics, Computer Vision, Computer Aided Geometric Design, Molecular Biology, Neural Networks, Pattern Matching, etc. The Center aims to enhance the existing interaction between our applied groups and the Israeli hightech industry and the German partners. |
