* Research activities and aims

The Center's mandate is to promote, support and encourage research in areas of mathematics where analysis plays a primary role. This is accomplished by sponsoring workshops, symposia, schools in areas of interest to the members of the Center, and supporting exchanges of members of the mathematical communities of Israel and Germany.
In addition, each year the Center sponsors the Landau Lectures which bring an internationally acclaimed mathematician to Jerusalem to give a series of 3 lectures. The areas of mathematics in which the center specializes currently are areas whose roots lie in German mathematics and as such are of interest to the German mathematical community. The center supports a preprint program which is distributed to scientific centers in Germany.
